This Victorian mourning ring is an exquisite example of mid-19th-century memorial jewellery, crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The centrepiece is a finely woven panel of hair framed by an intricate border of scrolling black enamel and gold, showcasing a harmonious blend of texture and craftsmanship. The shoulders of the ring feature engraved foliate patterns that extend seamlessly into the band, further enhancing its ornate design.

The back of the ring's head is engraved "Geo. Norman Ob: Feb 16th 1864 Æ 17 Yrs".
