This Georgian swivel mourning ring is a versatile and beautifully crafted piece from the early 19th century. One side features a central glazed compartment with finely woven hair framed by a striking black and white enamel border. The reverse side, when swivelled, reveals a detailed inscription: "Mrs. Catherine Smith, ob. 26 Dec 1802, Æt: 64,". Set in rich rose gold, this ring elegantly combines sentimentality with practical design, serving as both a cherished keepsake and a poignant reminder of love and loss.
Testing as 15ct rose gold, this ring is in good overall condition, with light wear commensurate with age. The band is an oval shape, with no signs of repair or resizing.
