The Ancient 17th Century Hard Stone Cameo Ring
Couldn't load pickup availability
This stunningly detailed ring features a large, detailed sardonyx cameo carving depicting the profile of a young man with wavy hair. The image is reminiscent of Roman-era carvings, though this one was artfully crafted in the 17th to 18th centuries. The cameo is of a brownish grey and creamy white colour, artfully executed, showing little wear for its age and maintaining a beautiful lustre.
The substantial cameo is complemented by its yellow gold settings, framed by lined detailing, completing the oval head perfectly. The shoulders of this ring also bear lined detailing, leading into a plain yellow gold band.
This ring is circa the 17th to 18th century.
Provenance: Acquired at public auction from a reputable fine-art and antiques auction house (London, UK). Previously in a private collection.
Please note that this ring is currently on display at Hemswell Antique Centres and will have a delivery delay of 3–4 working days.
