This Georgian era swivel mourning ring is a versatile and beautifully crafted piece from the early 19th century. One side features an oval central glazed compartment with finely woven brunette hair framed by a striking black and white enamel border. The reverse side, when swivelled, reveals a detailed inscription: "THOS KING ESQ OB: 22 OCT 1802, Æ: 29,". Set in rich rose gold, this ring elegantly combines sentimentality with practical design, serving as a reminder of love and loss.
Testing as 14ct rose gold, this ring is circa 1802.
