This stunning double-heart ring, circa the Victorian era, holds two gorgeous pear-shaped mixed-cut sapphires in a mid-blue hue, sparkling and lustrous. The sapphires are surrounded by a heart-shaped diamond border, completed by a stunning diamond bow, all set down in silver and with fantastic brilliance.
The double heart rings, like this one, were said to represent two individuals uniting as one, and were popular as wedding or engagement rings in the Victorian era. A double heart ring can be seen on the left hand of the portrait of Madame Moitessier by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres in 1851.
The head of this stunning ring joins a plain yellow gold band.
