The Viking Mythological Beast Bronze Ring
Sold September 2021
This ring, depicting a mythological beast, dates from circa 700-900AD.
A bronze ring with signs of weathering, it appears to have been protected with lacquer. This ensures moisture and other reactants cannot interact with the metal. This is what gives it a deeper colour than most bronze rings, and would allow the ring to be worn.
A delicate but nevertheless wearable ring, at over a millennium old it still clearly depicts a mythological creature on the circular bezel.
