Five marvellous cabochon opals sit in deep settings on a wide 9ct gold band. The ring has ornate detailing on both sides of the shoulders and the top and the bottom of the band. The detailing on the head frames the gemstones beautifully, giving them a place to catch the light.
The ring is in good condition with light wear commensurate with age and the opals have brilliant playful quality in the light. A minor chip to one opal is visible under magnification,
This ring has a partially worn hallmark by appears to be by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 9ct gold in 1965.
