The Fully Handmade Victorian Flore Magna Antique Rose Cut Diamond Ring
Sold December 2020
This antique fully handmade Victorian diamond floral cluster ring features a principal rose cut diamond, encircled by six smaller rose cut diamonds and flanked by a pear shaped rose cut diamond on each side. These are all held in an ornate gallery, which lifts the stones, allowing for plenty of light to help them shine. The ring is stamped Au750 and tests as 18ct gold and sterling silver.
The central diamond measures roughly 5.7mm - 5.8mm with the encircling rose cut diamonds measuring between 4mm and 3.8mm. The two pear cut diamonds both measure roughly 5.5mm x 3.6mm.
A visually large ring, with a head measuring 21.2mm x 19.3mm and a total carat wight or 1.8 carat.
This statement piece ring is in good wearable condition. There is some wear to the setting in keeping with the ring's age but all claws are present and the diamonds are held. The principal diamond has a small nick to the girdle and surface inclusion which can be seen in our high contrast macro photography. This striking ring has been cared for throughout its history and at around 150 years old shows a history of use and love.
