The Vintage Ruby and Diamond Snake Ring

This ring features a teardrop shaped ruby accompanied with a brilliant cut diamond set in a circular yellow head, reminiscent of a snake. The rosy coloured band joins the head in an asymmetric way, giving the ring additional flair.

Circa early to mid 20th century, this ring’s band tests as 18ct and the head tests as 9ct. This is likely a conversion-restoration piece, where a treasured piece of jewellery was converted to a ring to allow it to be enjoyed for longer. The head contains approximately 0.01ct of diamond. There is some light wear marks around the ruby, but all stones remain well held, with usual wear commensurate with age.
