The Georgian Pink Tourmaline and Pearl Ring
Sold December 2020
This Georgian ring features a bold pink oval mixed-cut tourmaline as its principal stone and a pearl on either side. These are joined in ornate metalwork, which tests as 18ct.
The band is patterned all around the shank and joins to the ring head in a pattern as if beams of wood bound by rope.
This ring, dating from around the end of the 18th Century or start of the 19th Century has some light abrasions to the tourmaline and a slight mark to the pearl. And some signs of a resize to the shank - none of which are easily apparent to the naked eye but can be seen in our high contrast photography. One quarter of the gallery around the principal stone has a flat edge rather than a pattern.
