The Black Opal Flat Topped Ring

This contemporary ring, circa 2000, features a black opal in a natural shape that has been polished flat and presented in a setting to match its shape. The setting points to irregular shoulders, one that joins along an edge to the bottom, and another that joins with a flourished curl. 

The band tests as 14ct. The opal has heat damage from the ring previously being resized. The opal has a thin pressure fracture that is eye visible and light grey spotting.
