The Antique Victorian 1857 Four Shoulder Garnet Ring
Sold October 2022
A cluster of six spectacular and well matched garnets rest in a floral arrangement, with a diamond in the centre. The shoulders split in two which slope down, leading the eye to dainty detailing of leaves around the band.
Fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 9ct gold in 1857, this piece is in good wearable condition with light marks and wear commensurate with age. One of the four shoulders shows signs of a previous repair. A lovely example of jewellery from more than 160 years ago.
