The Antique Victorian Diamond Flowers & Blue Sapphire Ring

Two diamond flowers hold a beautiful blue sapphire.

This breath-taking medium blue, mixed cut sapphire is held by a swooping, ornately carved band on either side. The carved metalwork is styled as if petals on a flower stem, with old Swiss cut SI clarity diamonds as their heads. The sapphire's near perfect colouring and clarity is as a result of it being a synthetic sapphire which would have been added at a later date to replace the potentially worn or lost original gem. These changes are common in beloved antique pieces and add to their history.

The band is stamped 18ct. It is believed by communicated provenance the hallmarking originally read Birmingham 1894, but this has either been lost through a band replacement or wear. The ring's style is in keeping with this date. This ring is in good condition.
