The Antique Victorian 1837 'In Memory Of' 18ct Gold Engraved Mourning Ring

This mourning ring is a beautifully preserved piece of early Victorian craftsmanship. The bold outer band features an inscription in Gothic lettering that reads "IN MEMORY OF", set against a rich black enamel background. The surrounding edges are adorned with delicate floral carvings, adding a touch of refinement and solemn beauty to the piece.
Inside the band, the ring bears a hallmark for 1837, with the head mark of William IV. This was the year William died and Victoria became Queen. The engraving reads "Hannah Booth, Ob. 21st March 1845 Æ 74 yrs." and "Jane Booth, Ob. Nov 5th 1819 Æ 68 years".
This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of London for 18ct gold in 1837. It is in very good condition with just light marks commensurate with age.
