The Antique Victorian 1854 Turquoise Rope Ring
Sold January 2024
This quirky antique ring features a large twisted rope head holding three exquisite bright blue turquoise gemstones in geometric shaped settings. The centrepiece of the ring is the twisted rope motif head, which adds a unique and intricate detail to the design. The rope twists and turns around the stones, creating a dynamic and eye-catching effect. This type of motif was popular in the Victorian era and was often used in jewellery designs to symbolize the unbreakable bond between two people.
This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 18ct gold in 1854. It is in good overall condition with general light marks commensurate with age. The shank was mis-shapen and we have performed corrections to make it round again.
