The Early 19th Century Antique Seed Pearl and Garnet Cluster Ring
Sold July 2023
This unique antique ring has a wide band with a square grid design consisting of four split-seed pearls and five deep red almandine garnets. The shoulders hold three seed pearls and one garnet, which leads into a detailed lined band.
This ring, circa early 19th century, tests as 18ct. The back of the ring head has an applied strengthening panel (the black marks across a join) that still holds well. The channels in the shank of the ring may have initially contained niello or enamel, now lost to time.
