The Antique Edwardian Classic Marquise Diamond Ring
Sold May 2023
This vintage ring features three dazzling old European cut diamonds, two eight-cut diamonds and fifteen old Swiss cut diamonds arranged in a marquise-shaped cluster head for an approximate total of 0.63ct. This shape creates a unique and elegant look that is sure to stand out.
The marquise shape was a popular choice for jewellery during the Edwardian era. It was believed to have been named after the Marquise de Pompadour, a lover of King Louis XV of France who favoured this diamond shape.
This ring, circa 1910, is stamped for 18ct and is in good condition with light marks commensurate with age.
