The Antique Victorian 1868 Leafy Green Emerald and Diamond Ring
Sold December 2021
This antique Victorian emerald and diamond ring is reminiscent of a flower, the four smaller diamonds frame the four emeralds in a floral pattern, allowing the emeralds to take centre stage. All the gemstones are well held in their settings and have an impressive appearance, reflecting the light wonderfully.
Emeralds were known to represent luck, love, peace and hope in the Victorian era. Also, many believed that wearing an emerald will provide emotional and mental powers, helping the wearer to ease their stress and provide them with mental clarity.
A treasured piece at over a century and a half old, this ring has been fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 18ct gold in 1868.
