The Antique 1900 Keeper Ring
Sold May 2024
This classic keeper ring features a single row of a roped pattern with small orbs arranged on top of the band. There are lined details to the shoulders, which lead into a plain design towards the back of the shank.
Historically, keeper rings were used to prevent other valuable rings from being lost. However, they were used temporarily by lovers who couldn't afford an engagement ring. The keeper ring has gained a reputation as a symbol of commitment and security.
This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 9ct rose gold in 1900. There are signs of a previous resize, however this ring is in good wearable condition.
