The Antique Georgian 1824 Rectangular Garnet Ring
Sold May 2023
A deep red rectangular garnet is held in an ornate setting on a band which in turn has foliate design work.
The band shows partial hallmarks for the London Assay Office in 1824 with the left half lost by a previous resizing. The back of the gallery reads "To EP from EM, 1846".
At nearly 200 years old this ring is in good condition. There is some smoothing to the setting and gallery commensurate with age. There is very light loss to some corners of the setting but the stone is well held. The base of the band shows signs of a previous resize. The garnet is cushion cut and shows some light wear commensurate with age. Weight 3.32g
