The Antique Early Victorian Timeless Diamond Ring
Sold October 2023
This breathtaking antique ring is a testament to timeless elegance and craftsmanship. It features a captivating arrangement of five graduated cushion-shaped Old European cut diamonds, each nestled within a white claw setting and accentuated by an illusion-style surround. The intricate scroll engraving on the shoulders perfectly complements the smooth, polished 'D'-shaped band.
This ring holds a fascinating piece of history within its band—an inscription that reads 'Mary Ann McClint/Clint Dec 17th 1849'. It has been XRF tested, confirming the silver setting and 12ct yellow gold composition of the ring head and shoulders, with a 9ct historic shank replacement. The ring remains in excellent condition, exhibiting only minor marks and wear consistent with its age.
The Safeguard assessment classifies the diamonds as H-I colour and VS-I1 clarity, with an approximate total weight of 2.24ct.
Additionally, the Safeguard report identified that some claws required attention. This issue has been addressed by our goldsmith and all stones are now securely held in place.
Elevate your collection with this stunning piece of Victorian history, and let this exquisite antique early Victorian diamond ring become a cherished heirloom for generations to come.
