The Antique 1912 Three Opal and Four Diamond Ring
Sold February 2022
This ring features three claw-set opals, punctuated by two pairs of old mine cut diamonds, in a raised gallery to give the ring head good light and sparkle.
This ring is fully hallmarked by The Assay Office of Chester for 18ct gold in 1912. At over 100 years old it is in good overall condition with the exception of one opal that is chipped on one side but still held in place by the claws of its setting. This flaw has been taken into consideration in the ring's pricing. The opals have a good dance of colour to them, with a range of greens and blues visible in their spectrum. This ring is a nice example of early 20th Century jewellery.
