The Antique 1910 Chester Ruby & Diamond Ring
Sold August 2021
This ring from the end of the Edwardian era features two oval cut rubies and four diamonds set in a Art Deco style rhombus shaped gallery joining to scrollwork detail shoulders. The gold band is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Chester in 1910 for 18ct.
At over 100 years old this ring is in good overall condition. There is usual wear to the band base and head commensurate with age and all stones are well held. One diamond has been replaced with a more modern cut diamond. To the naked eye the shape difference of the small modern stone is not as visible as it is in macro photography.
