The Antique Victorian 1879 Bloodstone Signet Ring
Sold July 2024
This fabulous signet ring boasts a stunning bloodstone, which is a beautiful deep forest green colour with flecks of red. The broad shoulders slope into a thinner band towards the back of the ring.
Bloodstone is a dark green to a dark bluish-green variety of chalcedony that is typically speckled with small, red or brown spots or flecks. Bloodstone was believed to have magical powers throughout ancient history and was used as an amulet for protection and healing purposes.
This ring is fully halmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 15ct rose gold in 1879. There are some slight scratches to the gold, but the stone is well-held and the ring is in good wearable condition.
