The Antique 1876 Victorian Turquoise and Pearl Dreamy Ring
Sold August 2023
This beautiful antique Victorian ring features three dreamy turquoise gemstones and two milky pearls, set in geometric settings on a wide rosy band with intricate metalwork accompanying both shoulders.
Turquoise was popular in Victorian jewellery as they were believed to have protective powers and bring good luck to the wearer. The addition of pearls further enhances the regal and luxurious feel of the ring, as pearls were highly valued during the Victorian era for their rarity and beauty.
This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 9ct rose gold in 1876. The two pearls are likely 20th-century replacements, but the ring is in good overall condition with light marks commensurate with age.
