The Antique 1874 Garnet and Seed Pearl Mourning Ring

Sold for £599.00

This outstanding ring features four round cut garnets and a central garnet cabochon, paired with four lustrous seed pearls, all set in an ornate fancy head. The shoulders feature a scrolled design, which leads into a plain band. There are 0.20ct of garnets in total.

To the back of the ring, a secret lies within. A sealed compartment contains a piece of hair, to stand the test of time. This ring was a memorial for someone's special loved one, and it has been well-preserved and looked after throughout the years.

This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of Birmingham for 9ct gold in 1874. It is in good condition with light marks commensurate with age.
