The Antique 1844 Diamond and Enamel Mourning Ring
Sold February 2026
The centrepiece of this mourning ring is a floral-shaped head delicately designed to evoke life's beauty and fleeting nature. Nestled within the floral motif is an old European-cut diamond, symbolising the eternal spark of remembrance. The diamond weighs 0.13ct in total.
The shoulders of the ring are adorned with black enamelled floral motifs, meticulously handcrafted to represent the solemnity and mourning associated with the Victorian period. Adding a touch of personalisation, the band of the ring features Old English writing, elegantly stating "In Memory Of." These words serve as a heartfelt tribute, honouring a cherished individual's memory and a reminder of their enduring presence in the hearts of those left behind.
This ring is fully hallmarked by the Assay Office of London for 18ct gold in 1844. The enamel has some wear, but the ring is in good condition with light marks commensurate with age.
