From circa 700-900AD this gold ring is in fantastic wearable condition despite being over a millennium old.
The top of the band has a repeated twist design, becoming tighter to the bottom where it smooths to join with the other side using a coiled terminal approach.
An absolutely stunning example of jewellery-making from one of the most impactful periods of history for northern Europe. A treasured piece of history.

The gallery is the official partner and representative of Ralf Kotalla German authenticity Laboratory in the UK and the document is signed by their lead expert with a PhD in Archaeology.
