The Ancient Roman Sun Symbol Silver Ring
Sold February 2023
This silver ring has a large circular head which features a celestial design of lines and dots, depicting the sun.
Sun worship gained importance during the later periods of the Roman Empire. The sun is the source of wisdom, the bestower of light and life to earth, providing enlightenment and illumination with an unblinking, all-seeing eye.
Circa 100-300 AD, the ring has signs of wear to both the head and the band, but it is still in fully wearable condition.
