The Ancient Medieval Polished Garnet Cabochon Ring

Sold for £1,699.00

Cira 15th to 16th Century AD, this lovely piece features a flat sectioned hoop to stepped shoulders with a widening pattern leading up to the ring head. The ring's head is a lentoid-section bezel with scalloped facets, each decorated with a slender notched strip at the centre, and holds a cut and polished garnet cabochon.

The light and playful red garnet compliments the gold of this gilt silver ring. Weighing 3.0g and in good overall condition, there is very light wear to the gilding commensurate with the ring's age.

Size K UK/AU, 5⅛ US/CA, 50 FR/RU, 15¾ DE
