An old European cut solitaire diamond of approximately 0.48ct is held by 5 claws at the centre of a spiral gallery composed of splines which are stepped in a fashion to allow light under the diamond for a great sparkle.

The diamond's cut and the ring's style place it circa mid to late 20th century, and most likely from abroad.
