The Vintage Art Deco Rhombus Diamond Ring
Sold November 2020
This Art Deco style ring features a rhombus shaped gallery atop scrolled decorative metalwork to knife-edge shoulders meeting a band marked 18Ct & Plat and a makers mark reading H.G & S. H.G & S. was the maker's mark for 'Henry Griffith & Sons'. Makers marks often change over the years, allowing jewellers to gauge time periods of ring manufacture. The makers mark seen on the inside of the ring most matches the mark used around 1929, indicating this is an original Art Deco period piece.
The bright diamonds are around 1.6mm for a total of 0.14ct.
The style of this ring places it somewhere between the turn of the 20th Century and possibly post WWII. The ring is in good wearable condition with some usual wear consistent with age to the band.
