The Victorian White Tulip Cushion Cut Diamond Ring
Sold March 2021
This ring has an exceptional 8 point decorative mount, allowing setting to compliment a standalone diamond. The uncommon mount reaches in from 8 outer points to suspend the diamond in place with thin platinum prongs, giving maximum light so it can sparkle to its fullest.
The shoulders of the ring each contain a single diamond totalling 0.08 carat, and depict tulips leading the eye up to the central 0.54 carat cushion shaped diamond, giving a total of 0.62 carat of diamond sparkle. Being old European cut the diamond is a more natural shape than the laser cut diamonds of modern times. You can see an inclusion from certain angles in the gem, and we have made this is visible in the product photos.
Stamped for 18ct gold and platinum, the style in combination with the diamond's old cut place this ring in the late Victorian era. At over 100 years old this ring has some signs of age on but the diamond is well held and the band is sturdy.
