This excellent piece of Victorian jewellery features a garnet surrounded by seed pearls.
The gallery's theme includes nautical curls and rolls, with details put into the ring's head's vertical and side view.
In turn, this is held aloft on each side by shoulders designed as a pair of twisted serpents joining the chased band.
The band tells the tale of the sea, showing calm waters to the left, becoming more intense as you follow it to the right, finishing with a raging storm.
An outstanding piece of jewellery, fully hallmarked by The Assay Office of Birmingham for 12 karat gold in 1866. This ring is a must-have for anyone who adores the ocean.
The maker's mark is JB for John Greenway Butterworth. One pearl is a later freshwater replacement.
Please note that due to the band's chased details this ring is excluded from our Free Resizing service.
